# Activating

After purchasing a license, either click the button in the email to activate Hedge, or go to Settings > License > Activate, and enter your license key.

## Having trouble?

Sometimes, people have an issue activation. If so, there are a few things you can try before reaching out to us:

* In a browser like Chrome or Safari, activate using an url like `appname://activate-trial?licensekey`. Example: <mimiq://activate-trial?1234-5678>
* If that doesn't work, uninstall the app completely using [AppCleaner](https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/) and then reinstall.
